The Voices of Latin Rock 7 @ Bimbo's 365 Club, San Francisco 01.20.2011
The 7th Annual Voices of Latin Rock Autism Awareness Benefit was a rousing success with a line up that included Malo (celebrating 40 years), Tierra, El Chicano and La Mission Band. Dr. Bernie Gonzalez did a great job organizing the event and keeping the ball rolling.
Bernie was surprised by Rita Gentry from Santana Management with an autographed guitar by Carlos Santana!
Wow! It's really autographed by Carlos!
In 2010, the film "La Mission" starring Benjamin Bratt and directed by his bro, Peter Bratt, was a big deal for the community. Music consultant Greg Landau, put together a great band in the studio to record movie for the film and brought them in to perform live on the Bimbo's stage. It was Oldies Heaven with Dr. Loco (Jose CUellar) sitting in on sax and the vocals of Orlando Torriente, Michelle Jacques, ????, and a very cool band.
The pride of Fresno, Javier Navarette, on congas.
 Orlando Torriente singing soul!
Bandleader Greg Landau, Camilo Landau, Aya Davila.
Greg, Dr. Loco, Camilo El Pachuco.
Puro San Anto in da house!
 La Mission Band lead singers.
La Gente loved La Mission Band.
El Chicano performed with a heavy heart as two of its OG members, Bobby Espinosa and Rudy Regalado, passed away in 2010.
But returning to the band is OG guitarist, Mickey Lespron.

Fred Sanchez continues to lead the band and one of the best dressed bassists in East L.A.

Mickey jamming and Jerry Salas, the voice of El Chicano, smiling!
